About the Fundraiser

The I.P.D Orthopaedic Centre, Andhra Mahila Sabha runs a residential school and vocational training for physically and mentally challenged children and adults. They come from very poor economic backgrounds mostly with single parents. The centre also has a pre-school for hearing impaired children. There are over 120 mentally challenged residents and more than 50 day scholars who benefit from our special education, vocational training, and free occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and speech therapy.

The organisation depends on donors for service to the differently abled. All donations, both cash and kind, have stopped completely since mid March 2020 due to the pandemic. The next few months will be a struggle for survival for all the caregivers/special educators/therapists. They are the backbone of the organisation. The centre needs to support them at this time of COVID crisis when they have stood by through the years, doing a service that not many want to do. Without them, how will the centre care for the 170 mentally and physically challenged children and adults?

Through crowdwave, we are looking to support 3 residential wardens, 20 caregivers, 15 special educators including vocational instructors, and 4 therapists who are essential for the wellbeing of the 170 special needs children at the centre.

Costs for one month:
Sponsor 1 Residential warden - Rs. 10,000 (Total for 3 - Rs. 30,000)
Sponsor 1 Caregiver - Rs. 8,000 (Total for 20 - Rs. 1,60,000)
Sponsor 1 Special educator - Rs. 10,000 (Total for 15 - Rs. 1,50,000)
Sponsor 1 Therapist - Rs. 15,000 (Total for 4 - Rs. 60,000)
