ABOUT THE EVENT

Covid-19 pandemic and the resultant lockdown has thrown normal life out of gear for most of us. Even sourcing and procuring basic necessities has become difficult for many people in India.

Crowdwave and Arunodayam together have identified 50 such mothers / families who are in dire need of the dry rations as they have no source of income. Having no work and having to take care of a special needs child along with their family is causing a huge stress on their day to day living.

As the economy will take a while to rebound and for the state of affairs to return to normalcy, I would like to do my bit in helping these families for the next couple of months. Cost to buy basic provisions ( Rice, Daal, Sugar, milk and so on) for 1 family for a month : Rs 1,000.

I would like to raise money to provide basic necessities for 50 such mothers/ families. Please support me and let's come together to help those in need.

During these difficult times of Covid 19, I have started hosting pilates sessions on Zoom for my friends and family. It is a great way to work out together and maintain a healthy lifestyle during these trying times of staying at home all the time. I want all the proceeds from my classes to go directly to helping those badly affected during these times. Arunodayam Trust:
For 18 years, Sri Arunodayam has been providing a safe and caring environment for abandoned mentally challenged children in Chennai, India. These children have been abandoned in hospitals and in crowded public places such as railway and bus stations. At times, even in dustbins! At Arunodayam, they are welcomed, nurtured, fed, clothed, rehabilitated and cared for. They try to give these children what they have lost – a home and a family! There are 115 children at their home.
