At SOS Children’s Villages of India, we not only provide abandoned, parentless children a loving home but we also ensure that they receive proper education. We want our children to become capable, contributing members of the society which is why all our efforts are directed towards helping them realize their highest potential in this competitive world. SOS India has set up kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, professional institutes and Vocational training centers across India. Children of different age and learning levels come to SOS. Preparing them for schooling, an effective in-house preparatory curriculum is practiced. It enables children to learn on their pace, as per their age and learning levels. It inspires joyful learning in an engaging environment. This year (as of March 2020), 275 children across all projects attended the programme. Of these, 115 children joined formal schools after completing the programme. The progress of children is tracked every six months and it was observed that all of them were settling in well with promising academic performance. In the coming year, they will be supported to finish assignment independently and be more curious to ask questions. 2402 youth completed skill training programme 137 youth got their first job
