We would like to provide food and fodder for the 100 odd beach horses on The Marina and Besant Nagar beaches as due to the lock down the owners of these horses which are used for joy rides on the beach have absolutely no source of income .This has left these horses with little or no food and starving. The horses are kept tethered on stone and garbage 24 hours a day with no food. We would like to provide wheat bran flakes and grass every week for these horses.
The People for Animals, Chennai , thanks to the kind donations received from animal lovers have provided food/ fodder for 88 joy ride horses. But this will only last them for another 4-5 days. As lockdown continues until May 3, we still have a long way ahead of us.
Cost per bag varies from Rs 1050 – Rs 1300. 1 horse would need around 7 bags of food a month, not inclusive of the grass. We are looking to raise money for these joyride horses through Crowdwave.

We humbly request corporates, philanthropists and compassionate public to help these starving horses. We are also looking at a long term rehabilitation plan for both the horses and the horse owners to move them to better environments and ensure that these horses retire with freedom to graze in green pastures and live out their lives with lots of love and care.
